Christmas and the great snowfall of 1960

Remember Christmas in 1960? Berryville had its traditional lights hung over Main Street, as uniquely shown by Mr. Rhoden's photo with the timed exposure

The great Christmas tree next to the firehall was an important tradition for the community. Santa came to town for the parade, and then listened to the children who brought their lists and took home oranges and candy.

And most of you will remember "Chief" Bob Willingham, who apparently had a special relationship with the big guy.

And you might recall 1960 was the year of the big snowfall

A simpler time for sure....pictures courtesy of the Clarke Courier
